Pachca announces hybrid on-premise (BYOK)

Primavera, the developer of the Pachca team chat app, has announced support for Bring Your Own Key (BYOK). The company's representatives shared the news with CNews.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) is a well-established approach to protecting data in cloud services, used by the largest software vendors, including Microsoft, SAP, SalesForce, Atlassian and others. With this approach, data is encrypted and decrypted using keys that the customer controls. Organizations get the benefits of the cloud (availability, regular updates, less load on IT teams) while keeping full control over their critical information.

"BYOK support takes our customers' data protection to a new level. Companies can now manage their own keys using, for example, Yandex KMS, Cloud.ru KMS or HashiCorp Vault. Every operation is logged in the customer's monitoring system, and the KMS can be deployed on the company's own servers, which ensures full transparency and auditability," Pachca representatives said.

According to the developers, the BYOK model sits between on-prem and classic SaaS products and meets strict security requirements. It's used in industries with heightened security requirements and has been used worldwide for more than 10 years in finance, telecom, manufacturing and the public sector.

BYOK is already available to Pachca enterprise customers on the advanced Corporation plan.
