About the company

I'm Ksenia, HR manager at the online school 100points. More than 130,000 students have taken our prep courses for the Russian state exams (the EGE and OGE), and our team is 400 people strong. Beyond courses, we build IT products that help students prepare for and pass their exams.

Life before Pachca

When I joined the company, everyone worked in Telegram. For the HR team, that was a real pain. Work and personal chats kept getting mixed up, and employee profiles didn't show first names, last names or job titles.

Every time you wanted to ask for help or reply to a colleague, you had to introduce yourself: who you are, which department you're from and so on. On top of that, verifying employee accounts was next to impossible. Everyone used personal devices, and nothing was synced with the company structure.

We also knew Telegram didn't offer much for work communication. Our people work from different countries and discuss lots of topics in parallel, and we lacked built-in tools for that. So the HR team pushed to bring in a team chat app.

The moment we knew Pachca was the one

We moved to Pachca really fast. We liked the clean interface without extra bells and whistles, and employees didn't need much time to get used to it. And of course, threads won us over. At first it was hard to explain why they matter, but now we talk in threads a lot, and it's really convenient.

How Pachca changed the way we communicate

We've set up lots of small routines for talking with the team. For example, we created company-wide channels to share news with everyone. We post there about new departments, our wins and so on. We also set up more team chats to help people stay focused on their tasks. All in all, we now have a stable chat structure.

For HR, it's great that we can finally see colleagues' names, job titles and departments. We talk with people from many different departments, and we no longer have to explain where we're from every time.

Tips for making the switch

To help the new app take root, we communicated with our employees as much as we could. In personal invitations, we explained why we were moving to Pachca and what we'd gain from it. We also ran training sessions for team leads, who then passed the details of the move on to their teams. That's how we got the whole company to understand why moving from Telegram to Pachca was necessary and worth it.
