How DIY marketplace INMYROOM rolled out Pachca and moved 110 employees over. A story of migrating from Mattermost to a team chat app
About the company
We're INMYROOM, a marketplace for furniture and home goods with a media section about renovation, design and interiors.
We carry 80,000+ products for the home and interior from the best Russian and international manufacturers. Beyond products, we're growing a services marketplace with 58,000+ listings, where designers, builders and other professionals post their portfolios and get hired.
What sets us apart is the mix of media and marketplace. We have our own video production team, more than 1,000,000 MAU on video platforms and over 500,000 followers on social media. Users get inspired by projects and can immediately find solutions for their home on our platform.
We also have several showrooms in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, where anyone can get hands-on with design: pick fabrics and put together a custom interior.
Life before Pachca
Before Pachca, we used Mattermost, an open-source team chat app. The team didn't like its clunky threads: it was hard to reply in context, conversations got lost and some of our communication turned into chaos. We increasingly felt we needed a tool that would make conversations structured and actually useful for work.
So we started looking at what was on the market and decided to roll out Pachca.
The moment we knew Pachca was the one
When we started looking at services to move to, we immediately noticed that Pachca neatly combines chats, tasks, roles and convenient threads. What hooked us was the "single window" idea: you can discuss things and lock in agreements right away. That cuts out the chaos, and it became clear that Pachca was the one that would solve our pain points.
How Pachca changed the way we communicate
Pachca helped us set up communication that works for our teams:

Tips for switching
When you move to a new tool, agree on the structure from day one: where each project gets discussed, where tasks get tracked and so on. Make sure to set up roles properly. It will make your processes simpler down the road.
As for Pachca specifically, use it as more than a replacement chat app. Make it the hub for your team's work. Try to bring all project communication and information from your other work tools into it, add bots and use all the features (tasks, for example).
