An AI summary is a condensed version of the key points, written by a language model. Instead of an hour-long meeting or a thread with a hundred messages, you read a few paragraphs: what was discussed, what was decided and which tasks came out of it.
Where AI summaries come in handy:
- Meeting recaps for people who missed the call
- Catching up someone who joined a long thread late
- Key takeaways from a document or report
A summary is a retelling, so the model can miss a nuance or get a name or term wrong. For important decisions, check the full text.
In Pachca, AI summaries come with call transcription: after the meeting, a short recap and the full transcript of the conversation arrive in the thread under the call message. You can set up the summary prompt in the chat with Set up AI summary. The feature is rolling out as a public beta and is being turned on for workspaces gradually. An AI agent can recap a long thread too: @mention it in the thread and ask for the key points.
