An AI teammate is an AI agent built into how your team works, not tucked away in a separate service. You talk to it the way you'd talk to a person: post a task in a shared chat, and it replies in the same discussion. Unlike an AI assistant in a separate window, an AI teammate has your team's context and access to your work tools.
How an AI teammate differs from a regular bot:
- It understands tasks written in plain language, no commands or buttons needed
- It picks its own steps and tools: your tracker, repo or knowledge base
- It asks follow-up questions and reports results in the thread
- It works only within the access it's been given
In Pachca, you set up a team agent as a bot with its own name, avatar and token. Teammates @mention it in a thread, and it replies there. The agent sees public channels and only the private chats it's been added to. Its messages are signed with the bot's name, so it's always clear what a person did and what the agent did.
