Careerspace
How to pick a new service in a week, keep every workflow and make conversations better organized

About the company
I'm Andrey, Product Designer at careerspace. We help people find jobs: we prepare their documents, search for openings, apply and help them get through interviews. With our guidance, 93% of people find a job, and they do it twice as fast as they would on their own. Over the past two years, we've helped more than 2,000 people land jobs.
Before Pachca
We communicated in Slack and were perfectly happy with it. But after Russian cards were blocked, paying for it became a problem. And with the exchange rate soaring, the price per person was unreasonable, around 1,000 rubles per person/month. So we started looking for an alternative.
The moment we knew Pachca was the one
We decided to stick with Pachca almost as soon as we found it. Every feature we needed was on the website and in the API docs. Whatever was missing was on the roadmap. And support answered our questions quickly and to the point. So we tested everything within a week and started the move right away.
How Pachca changed the way we communicate
Most importantly, we moved all our chats into Pachca: the ones we had in Slack and the ones we had to move to Telegram while we searched for an alternative. Now all communication happens in one place, even when it isn't directly tied to tasks. It also matters that we kept all the workflows and rituals we had in Slack.
I like that Pachca has lots of tools for keeping conversations organized. For example, chat folders are a great solution. You can reply to specific messages in chats and threads, which is something I really missed in Slack. And tasks make it easy to set reminders or small to-dos.
You can tell Pachca cares about its users: the thoughtful UX makes it hard to get lost, and the clean UI makes it even more pleasant to use.
Tips for switching
Teams of 30–50 people moving from Slack should be ready for the fact that Pachca isn't an exact copy. Some features may be missing, but many things often work better than in Slack.
Check the roadmap while you're moving. It's detailed, and the features you're missing are most likely already planned. That's exactly what happened to us: we were discussing that something was missing, checked the roadmap and found it there. Then we double-checked with support, and they confirmed everything.
