#PachcaSecrets: messages

Messages are the heart of any team chat app. Here are our favorite message features in Pachca.

1. Check spelling and search Google

Fix typos without leaving Pachca: right-click an underlined word and pick the correct spelling. If you don't know a word, click Search with Google in the same menu.

2. Format text with shortcuts

In Pachca, you can format text with keyboard shortcuts:

• Cmd / Ctrl + B: bold
• Cmd / Ctrl + I: italic
• Cmd / Ctrl + U: underline
• Cmd / Ctrl + S: strikethrough
• Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + U: link
• Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + 7: numbered list
• Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + 8: bulleted list
• Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + 9: quote
• Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + C: inline code
• Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + Alt / Option + C: code block
• Cmd / Ctrl + Z: clear formatting

3. Image quality

Images attached as Photo or video are compressed automatically (to 1920px on the long side). To send an image or video in its original quality, hold Shift while dragging it from your file manager into the chat.

4. Favorites

Turn Favorites into a hub of links to the tools and docs you use at work, so everything is at hand:

• Create a chat just for yourself
• Post messages with the links you need
• Add the messages to Favorites in the right order: the earlier a message is added, the higher it appears in Favorites

5. Zoom shortcuts

Zoom images in and out with the "+" and "-" keys. Hold a key down to fine-tune the size: the image zooms more slowly this way.

6. Reply to a message

A reply works like a mention. The person you reply to gets a notification (even if they've turned off notifications for the chat), and an @ appears next to the chat's unread counter.

7. Navigation menu in a pinned message

You don't have to jump to a pinned message to open a link in it. This lets you build a navigation menu in a message: add links to the text (copy a link, select a word → Link), then pin the message in the chat (right-click → Pin).

8. Make text bigger

In the Pachca desktop apps, you can zoom the interface with keyboard shortcuts.

• zoom in: Ctrl + Shift + Plus (+) / Cmd + Plus (+)
• zoom out: Ctrl + Minus (-) / Cmd + Minus (-)
• reset to default: Ctrl + Zero (0) / Cmd + Zero (0)

In the mobile app, the font size automatically follows the size set in your device settings.
