Scheduled messages
How to schedule a message and why you'd want to
Scheduled messages let you send a message on a specific date and time. Here's how to use them.
What are scheduled messages?
Scheduled messages are messages you can set to send at a later time. Use them to plan posts or to stay in sync with colleagues in other time zones.
How do I schedule a message?
To schedule a message:
- Type your text in the message field
- In Send settings, choose Schedule message
- Pick the date and time the message should be delivered
If you change your mind about sending the message or want to change the date and time, click Edit above the message field. All your scheduled messages are stored in Drafts, on the Scheduled tab.
Recurring scheduled messages
Recurring messages are scheduled messages you can use as reminders about meetings or tasks. You can repeat them:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
Or choose custom settings: set when the message repeats and the date until which it keeps repeating.
Scheduled messages via API
You can also create a scheduled message via the API. It uses the same method as a draft, just with a schedule: the date of the first send and a repeat rule. This is handy for AI agents and integrations. For example, an agent can schedule a reminder for the team on Monday. It works only with a personal token (drafts:read and drafts:write scopes), with up to 50 scheduled messages per chat. Learn more in the developer docs.
